Yoga Nidra Private Session
Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative and cleansing practice that brings into harmony the body through relaxation and sleep (where the body repairs itself), the mind through guided instructions that assist the brain to make new connections (improving neuroplasticity) & release old thought patterns, and the spirit through accessing different levels of consciousness to aid in the manifestation of our highest being.
Yoga Nidra is a practice of putting the body into a deep state of relaxation while allowing the mind to remain present through guided instructions of rotating consciousness in the body, breathing, awareness of sensations/feelings, image visualization and more. As we begin to fall asleep at night, the senses shut down one by one, the last one being hearing. In this relaxed state of sensory withdrawal while focusing on the art of listening, the practitioner becomes increasingly aware of their own inner world and areas of the body holding unnecessary strain. Throughout the session, the areas of tension and stress slowly release allowing the body to come into a state of repair and rejuvenation.
Yoga Nidra is a wonderful technique to plant a seed of intention within the self for growth and expansion, but has also been used to aid in the reduction of tension, stress and anxiety. The autonomic symptoms of high anxiety such as headache, giddiness, chest pain, palpitations, sweating and abdominal pain also respond well to the practice. Not only does Yoga Nidra go far beyond combating stressful influences and correcting the imbalances created by poor stress management, it also lends itself to “stress-resistance”. Yoga Nidra provides a means of transforming tension and one can positively utilize it as a stepping stone to greater awareness, efficiency and achievement. With continued practice, one can learn to thrive on the same difficulties, challenges and adversities that would lead another to the brink of mental anguish, emotional self-destruction and physical break down.
A private session can be facilitated in person or via video. After purchase, you will be sent a questionnaire for guiding the structure of the session to match your individualized needs. After the completed questionnaire has been received, a time and date will be scheduled for the session. The session begins with a preliminary discussion of the answers along with a short asana/stretch sequence to prepare the body for deep relaxation.
